HOW THE SCAVENGER HUNT WORKS

1. Each team will consist of 4 members. If you previously participated in our Scavenger Hunts, we suggest that you form a new team. You are welcome to choose your own team, or you can put your name in a “pool” of participants and the teams will be selected randomly.

2. Each team can determine independently how they will photograph the 12 items on the list. You can go out and shoot together as a team, each member can shoot each item, or you can break the list up and assign individual team members certain items to shoot on their own. However, we STRONGLY suggest that you schedule group shooting sessions and outings where you can share your knowledge and skills. Past participants who have been on teams that shoot together have repeatedly commented that it enhanced the experience for them.

3. For this activity the rules regarding enhancement/manipulation are the same as for the Assigned, Creative, and Open Categories in our competition.

4. The photographs MUST be taken between June 17, 2026, and September 16, 2026.

5. Each team will submit ONE DIGITAL image for each item on the list. Each team member must have 3 images in the final submission. If a team has fewer members, then the submissions will be split equally.

6. Size dimensions for the digital submissions are the same as for regular competition, with a maximum size of 2160 x 2160 pixels.Use the following naming convention: TeamX_HuntItemName_CreatorName (FirstNameLastName).JPG

example: Team1_Barn_RussBarneveld. jpg

8. Team Submission Deadline for submitting images will be October 2, 2026. JPG images may be sent via email or https://wetransfer.com to: russbarneveld@gmail.com

9. The results will be shown as our program at our October meeting.

10. Have fun, try new things, get creative, and get to know your fellow GRCC members!

NOTES:

Flat lay photography involves arranging objects on a flat surface and photographing them from directly above, with the camera sensor parallel to the surface. This top-down perspective allows the photographer to control the composition fully and present a clear, organized view of the subject matter, turning three-dimensional objects into a visually cohesive two-dimensional image

Selective color photography involves isolating a particular color in an image while desaturating the rest to black and white or monochrome. This technique emphasizes the chosen color, guiding the viewer’s eye to the subject and creating a striking visual contrast. It is often used to highlight emotions, tell a story, or add artistic impact to a photograph

Stitched Panoramic is the process of combining multiple images with overlapping fields of view to produce a segmented panoramic or high-resolution image. Commonly performed through the use of computer software, most approaches to image stitching require nearly exact overlaps between images and identical exposures to produce seamless results.
