Greetings fellow GRCC Members,
I would like to take a few moments to tell you about a new opportunity as a member of the GRCC. We have put together an email list called “shooters”. The idea behind shooters is to create a forum that will enable people in the club to let each other know about shooting opportunities. The procedure is very simple. First you need to be on the “shooters” distribution list. To get on the list you can do one of the following.
1. Send an email request to either Jim Shearer Jr webadmin@grcameraclub.org or Mike Mitchell votrepear@gmail.com and we will send you an invitation to join the group.
2. Visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GRCCshooters/join
3. Send email to GRCCshooters-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
It's easy sign up and there is no cost involved. If you already belong to one or more of the Yahoo Groups the process is even simpler.
The reason we created the list is so only people who are interested in these kinds of activities receive the email notifications. Once you’re on the list you will be able to send and receive emails and keep up to date on what kinds of things and places other members are taking pictures of.
Here’s an example, I have decided on Thursday that I would like to go to Muskegon on Saturday to photograph the lighthouse at sunset; I would simply send an email to GRCCshooters@yahoogroups.com to let people on the list know that I am going and see if anyone might be interested in going also.
The important thing to remember is that when you initiate an email notification that you identify who you are, make sure that you include all of the important information for the event and provide some kind of contact information so interested persons can contact you if they have any questions.
The hope with “shooters” is we get more people out shooting together and build new and lasting friendships within the club.
