Mastering Manual

Daniel Koons will teach us how to set up our cameras to shoot in Manual Mode and how this will improve our photography. The class focuses on understanding and mastering camera exposure, ISO, shutter speed and lens aperture.

When people shoot in Programmed, Shutter Priority or Aperture Priority Mode they are ignoring exposure, which is one of the biggest reasons people spend so much time editing photos.

Manual Mode allows you to focus on what’s important and lets exposure take care of itself.

By setting ISO for the lighting condition of the room, then aperture based on how much depth the field you want and last the shutter speed by aiming your camera at something with a neutral color, your camera is now set for your rooms shooting conditions. At the completion of this class you will be ready to shoot well exposed images using your cameras Manual Mode.

This is a hands-on workshop be sure to bring your camera!

Daniel's Biography

I have always loved photography, even as a child I remember taking a whole roll of film to get one shot. Boy was that expensive! Though I shot film, I really waited for and grew up in the digital photography world starting in 1999, began shooting weddings in 2003 and shooting professionally and teaching classes in 2005. I really fell in love with teaching. I currently spend most of my time between Norman Camera in sales along with teaching their classes and photography consulting.
